second floor wireless down

wireless--not so much
The wireless network that normally serves the 2nd floor of the library seems to be down. I reported it to the help desk around 4:15pm on Wednesday 4/16. I'm not sure they can or will move on this until a student also reports the problem or someone else with the time and the will to help help troubleshoot gets involved.

out of order signs
Per a staff discussion on the best way to share information about reference equipment (and bathroom) problems, I have created an OUT OF ORDER sign that should be filled out by the reference staff who notices the issue and then by any subsequent people who deal with it.
Several copies of the sign have been stored in the reference desk drawer, in the hanging folder marked SIGNS in the file folder marked OUT OF ORDER.
The master is located in the library staff drive at H:\SIGNS\outoforder.xls

Symantec Endpoint Protection
I just installed the new version of Symantec (anti-virus, and now pest detection, too) onto the references desk computer.
You might want to put it on your own computer(s), as well.
