Changes in Catalog of US Govt Publications
The Government Printing Office is implementing a new
Integrated Library System, which will signifcantly improve
the services offered by GPO. One of the first changes
visible to the public will be in the Catalog of U.S.
Government Publications (CGP). On May 13 the CGP will be
frozen. From May 16 to June 1, GPO will suspend all
cataloging activity on OCLC. June 1-June 10 the ILS will
undergo testing, and on June 13 GPO expects to open the CGP
for use by the public once again.

* Broader coverage with records dating from July 1976 with
daily updates.
* Logical subsets of records that can be searched
separately:- Online publications/ "New Electronic Titles".
- Serials/Periodicals.
* MetaLib for federated searching of other catalogs and
resources.
