I had a question come up about the exact loan periods for ILL & BorrowDirect today and I thought I'd share the answer with everyone. I spoke with ILL who told me:

BorrowDirect: loan period is 6 weeks, however items may not be renewed.
ILL: load period 4 weeks, and items may be renewed multiple times.

There is a problem with the Borrow Direct system that is preventing patrons from placing new requests. All Borrow Direct partner libraries are affected by the problem, and it is currently being investigated by system administrators.

We hope to have this resolved as soon as possible. I will post an update when I have more information.

Effective today, new requests placed through Borrow Direct have a loan period of six weeks instead of four. Please alert your staff and patrons to this exciting new development. Items received later this week and next will reflect this new loan period.

Books requested and received before today are still due on the date marked on the book. Recalled items must always be returned as soon as notice is given.
