E-Resources News: Roper Center Catalog of Holdings
The Catalog of Holdings lists all surveys archived at the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research. These surveys can be samples of national adult, state, foreign, and special subpopulations. The Catalog provides a searchable description and unique archive identification number for each. Along with such basic information as survey organization, interview dates, and type of sample, most catalog entries include abstracts indicating the subjects covered by the questions in the survey. Studies identified with the "Roper Express" logo can be downloaded directly by a user. To request studies that are not part of the "Roper Express" program, contact eds@columbia.edu.

"Who We Are" Session on Monday 1/30 at noon
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to invite you to attend the first of our divisional presentations, "Who We Are and What's New," presented by Area Studies on Monday, January 30, in Butler 203 from noon - 1pm. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about what is new in other departments, for new employees to see the wide range of projects and specialities of each division, and to allow each division to practice presenting.
Support staff members have asked for informational opportunities like this to learn more about the various divisions. Colleagues who are in library school have asked for opportunities like this to see career options within Libraries and Information Services. Also, new employees will experience all of Information Services in their first year.
Below is the list of those divisions who are already scheduled to present this year. Please mark your calendars for these sessions from noon - 1pm in Butler 203:
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you,
Lisa Starr

CLIO OPAC
from Breck Witte:
We have rerouted CLIO OPAC sessions to an alternate web server and performance appears to be back to normal. While we work to resolve the problems we were experiencing please be advised that the best way to connect to CLIO is via the resolver URL:
http://www.columbia.edu/cgi-bin/cul/resolve?AMS3996
This URL will always reference the current web servers, while direct connections to clio.cul.columbia.edu are likely to be less reliable when we are experiencing server problems.

Income Tax Forms Not
(Excerpted from a post by Jerry Breeze about Lehman; I assume this goes for us, too.)
The Internal Revenue Service has terminated its BPOL (Bank, Post Office, and Library) Program and will no longer provide us with the bulk forms.
As a result, there will not be tax forms library this year. Please send any request for tax forms to the appropriate IRS or NYS Taxation site, or to the USGD web page, "Income Tax Forms and Resources."
