printer trouble
The printer in the lab has been jamming repeatedly in the same spot. The Help Desk has been notified.
Apparently all of the printers in the Diana are out of commission as well. So far the printer in research continues to function!

SPSS on lab computers
I didn't think we still had SPSS on the computers in reference, but it turns out that we do! We have SPSS Statistics 18.
The way users access it is:
Go to the Start menu
Click All Programs
Click Applications
Click Quantitative Applications
Open SPSS!

printing from a laptop
CUIT has a list of printers from which people accessing the BC/CU network via a laptop can choose. The NINJa printer on the 2nd floor is bclibrary200a. Presumably the one on the 1st floor is bclibrary100a.
I had no idea this existed! Printing from a laptop should be easy once the user has the proper driver installed.

Use the paper from the green and white boxes only for the Ninja printer
We should use the paper from the green and white boxes only for the Ninja printer, according to Paul Woo. He believes the reason the printer has been jamming so much recently is because we've been using the paper from the orange/red boxes.

library wireless
To access the secured wireless network you need to configure your computer. Find out how. Or bring your computer to the lab in the Diana, where BCIT trained staff will set your computer up for you.
There is an unsecured wireless network, but it is inferior to the secured network and may not provide access to important library resources such as CLIO.
