copiers
Please track service calls for the public photocopiers on the problem reporting sheet that we keep next to the reference desk printer.
This will help CUL evaluate the copier service.

E-journal gaps
Many people have noticed that some key e-journals disappeared from CLIO and from the lists on LWEB this week. The reason was an erroneous file of delete transactions received from SerialsSolutions. We are in the process of re-loading those records, so access via CLIO and LWEB should be restored by tomorrow. We're still investigating the reason for the errors.
Most of the deleted journals are from the Scitation package, and include titles from AIP, ASME, and IEE. -- Bob [Wolven]

207 key
The key to room 207 is missing! If you have any idea where it might be, please let me know.
Students: While the key is unavailable, we'll try to remember to keep some extra paper for the printer at the reference desk. If there isn't any at the desk, try the staff room.

scanned ereserves
The "shopping period" of unrestricted access to scanned e-reserves has now passed. Access control files have been generated that will restrict access to scanned e-reserves to the following people:
consult the printed copy in the library (when available)
- staff involved in uploading and processing this material
- those students and instructors registered for the class either as students or instructors (this includes some TAs)
- others who have requested and been granted access to the Courseworks pages of a given class.
consult the printed copy in the library (when available)
- request access to the courseworks page for the course;
- we receive a daily feed from Courseworks and process it on receipt. This is the best option for TAs who find that they do not have access to electronic reserves for the course for which they are TAing.

GAIM on ref desk computer
I just installed GAIM (an open source instant messaging product that provides access to AIM, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, SILC, Yahoo, and other IM services) on the ref desk machine. There's an icon on the desktop.
Double click the icon.
Click Accounts.
Click Add.
Under screen name put your AOL IM address, e.g. BarnardLibBertha.
If you remember you password, put it under Password.
I clicked "Remember Password" but not Auto-login.
Let me know if you need any help.
